It's easy
I really do this a thousand times. I don't see any difficulty when doing this. I often use biro to write things because they're so convenient. I put them in necessary places where I need to write things (near the phones, on the desks...) and always keep them on the right places. Then I can use them till they're out of ink. Sometimes I don't really change them, I just change the refills. Then I can keep them as my friends for a long time. 20 August 2010, 02:08biro ink
in my class you can't get a new pen until you either lose yours, or it runs out of ink. Most people just take theirs home and say they've lost it but I try as hard as I can to use ALL the ink until it doesn't work. Its a small action but it will make a difference... maybe :) 28 July 2010, 07:42the most ecological pen?
Im a teacher, I use a lot of pens. Which exactly are the most ecological I wonder?Does anyone know? 26 June 2010, 21:32
Bic have responded
Bic are offering a tenner to people who finish their pens as an incentive to be less wasteful. www.challengebic.co.uk. 14 May 2010, 13:16Ive done it
i did it last night when it suddenly stopped workng.. my god how many times wud i have saved it from being lost ..?? 14 March 2010, 13:37Fountain Pen - go old school
I definately think this should be changed from use a biro to use a fountain pen. There are enough throw-away things in our life not to encourage the use of disposables. 08 March 2010, 17:34never use biros anymore
It's really difficult to use biros from start to finish, so I use pen now :) 01 March 2010, 05:52i've done this more than once!
i've done it about 3 times since the start of the school year theres something satisfying about using a biro til you can use it no more 29 January 2010, 20:20i did it
i did it while writing 15 January 2010, 12:30YAYYY :)
I have been trying to do this ever since I have read this action and from the start of Sixth Form. I'm proud to say I have finally achieved this and my biro has ran out ;D. Well kind of but if I keep on writing with it, even I can't make out what I just wrote. 16 November 2009, 22:43School.
i did this action as part of my GCSE course. 14 November 2009, 16:33Using a biro from start to finish
The next time someone asks you what you want for a present then ask for a nice pen. Because it will be special you'll take more care of it than you would the biro's that you put down or chuck in drawers and..... when it runs out of ink you can refill it with minimal waste (ie you'll only through away the refill and not the outer case too) 13 October 2008, 12:53
i started to do this because i found loads of half used pens in my room and it saves me money 10 May 2008, 10:14
Why not a fountain pen?
If you can't use a biro from start to finish (because, like me, you keep losing it or borrowing it with no return in sight), buy a fountain pen instead.
Sure, it's a bit tricky at the beginning. But you save a lot of money in the long run -- you can recycle the plastic ink cartridges (or buy a nice, old-fashioned bottle of ink - it's glass, so you can recycle it as well). There are some very good pens at nice, decent prices out there, so don't panic.
Plus, you can pass it on to the next generation. I know that because the pen I use nowadays was my grandad's. :) 18 February 2008, 14:10
